Some inspection tasks can be precisely defined. Others cannot: scratches on curved surfaces, defects on transparent materials, quality differences in products with natural variability. An experienced inspector can recognize them immediately—but without AI, it is difficult to formulate rules that can automatically detect these variable and diverse defects, even in naturally diverse products.

Learning instead of programming

This is exactly where Neuralyze® comes in. The Vision AI software uses deep learning, a subcategory of artificial intelligence, for industrial quality control. Instead of defining rules, users train the system with their image data. It learns independently what distinguishes a defect from a good part – even with transparent, reflective, or curved surfaces and with products with high feature variance.
